Sorry it's taken so long to post any pictures of our apartment, it's been crazy busy around here. We haven't hung up much on the walls yet but you'll get the idea of the space. It's SO much bigger than our apartment in DC which we love!

Here's the view when you first walk in the front door...

Walking in and turning to the left is the kitchen...

Walking in to the right is the deck...

Look who's hard at work studying out there! (Note-that is a cigar ash tray, not cigs!)

A view of what the outside of the apartment complex looks like. Can you spot my car?

The dining room (we really need to buy some chairs)...

View of the kitchen from the dining room...

Last stop on this tour is the study room...Try to guess which desk belongs to each of us, haha!

All these books from just one year of law school! We're going to need to build a library when we own our own home...

And that concludes the tour for now, we hope you enjoyed seeing our new place. By the way, a bedroom and bathroom do exist, but are too much of a mess to photograph yet!

P.S. - For those of you who are "Followers" of the site, does it email you when there is a new post? We're trying to figure out how to notify everyone when we publish a new post? Blogspot only allows us to add 10 email addresses...lame. Thanks for stopping by!

Just a quick post to say that today was my first day of work at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Just did lots of HR type of stuff and have more of the same tomorrow. There were 8 other new hires along with me but they were all Social Workers or Pharmacists. I got to finally meet 2 of the HR ladies who helped me get hired while we were still in DC. One of the girls is my age, moved to Iowa City a year ago, and used to live in DC in one of the new condo buildings near the Nationals Stadium (small world)! Here are some pictures of the outside of the VA hospital where I'll be working.

Oh! And another story of what a small world it is-- yesterday when Rob and I were walking into our apartment building a girl held the door for us and noticed that we had MD plates. Turns out she just moved here from DC, lived in Dupont Circle, lives in the unit right below us, and is going to be a 1L at the law school. Nice to have some Washingtonians all the way out here!

Love,
Allison
Hello Friends & Family,

We never thought we were the blogging type of people. What did we have going on in our lives that was really of interest to other people? Well, now that we're embarking on this new chapter in our lives, we figured this would be a good way to keep everyone in the loop. We most likely won't be updating every day, but maybe once a week with pictures of our apartment, the law school, Iowa City, any trips we go on, etc.

We're giving this a whirl to see if this works best for everyone so let us know what you think!

Also, this will be a "private" blog so if you think you'd be interested in following us, leave us a comment with your preferred email address so we can add you to the access list. The blog will stay open for a week or so and then we'll make it private

Thanks for stopping by!

Love,
Allison & Rob
